Most soapstone carvings of this style found today date to the Republic Period (1912–1949) or the Mid-Century (1950s–1970s), when China produced high volumes of "archaic-style" export wares

Archaic Form: The flat, disc-like body is modeled after the Bi Disk, an ancient ritual object representing the heavens and spiritual status.

Chilong Dragons: The neck and sides feature Chilong (hornless dragons), symbols of protection and vitality, carved in high relief.

The Stone: Crafted from variegated soapstone with a soft, waxy luster. The natural green and brown "clouding" in the stone is a deliberate choice by the carver to mimic the weathered patina of ancient tomb jades.

Era: Mid-to-Late 20th Century

Material: Natural Soapstone (Steatite)

Condition : Well used ( small chips on cover )

• Dimensions : H : 32.5 ( With cover ) , W : 20cm , Depth : 5cm
